Today is the last day of guest posters. I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing from the other bloggers as much as I have. Gina Sewell is wrapping things up today in Hebrews 10:35-36.
Spiritual Confidence
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36
So what does this mean….”do not throw away your confidence? It means, don’t lose your faith. It means don’t give up hope. The Lord our God wants to give exceedingly, abundantly to His children. We just need to learn to persevere while going through the sufferings that this world doles out to each of us.
Sometimes life is hard. God wants us to lean on him during those hard times and he will take care of us. But when we are in the midst of struggles, many times all we want to do is give up on our faith. We may even get angry with him.
That’s what happened to me, in fact. I got very angry with God several years ago because my mom was in a debilitating car accident. She was an amazing Christian woman who loved the Lord so deeply and spent her life doing his work. . I was so angry with Him that it almost ruined my life, but finally, I came home. I repented of my sin and asked God to help with my mom.. I knew by that time she didn’t have much more time left on this earth and, even though she didn’t have a clue who I was (no memory of me at all), I needed to be the daughter my mom needed me to be instead of being angry and resentful that she wasn’t the mom that I thought I needed her to be.
It took a long time, but eventually I learned to persevere and all these things that have happened, have made me stronger, have grown my character, built my faith, and rebuilt my relationship with Jesus.
Of course there are still trials and tribulations, but I always try to remember to not lose confidence, do not lose faith. How can I when I know that He is right there with me through it all?
