Stand Firm To The End

design (38)

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.  Matthew 10:22

In today’s society being a Christian can be tough. We are faced with many challenges, and come into contact with people that don’t like Christians isn’t all that uncommon.

There is no doubt that being a Christian is not an easy route. We have very different viewpoints on everyday things that our culture and society consider normal and acceptable.

Therefore we are often criticized and ridiculed for our beliefs,

“Where is your God now?”

Having hope and faith in certain circumstances is unfathomable in the eyes of an unbeliever.

And being joyful in the midst of tragedy is simply unheard of.

Yet as followers of Christ these are our “secrets weapons” if you will.

In a world with so much hate, violence and crime, our faith is not only what helps us through, but it moves us forward.

One of the most comforting verses in the bible in my opinion is John 16:33:

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

We will have trouble, following Jesus doesn’t mean we won’t suffer, but because we have Jesus we have the hope and faith we need to get through difficult times. That makes it worth standing firm until the end.

The one that stands firm until the end is like the kid in line for his favorite ride at the amusement park. Even if it’s a 4 hour wait. It doesn’t matter if it’s 90 degrees out or 30 degrees, he still isn’t going anywhere.

And why does he wait in line for so long?

Because he knows what he is waiting for. He knows when he gets to the end there is something amazing waiting for him.

He realizes that “standing firm” in line is worth it, do you?

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.  Matthew 10:22
