I have walked Faithfully in your Truth

Fruit of Faithfulness Series: Day 5

It’s funny how the more your write the more desire to write. At least that is what I am learning in the first few days of this #write31days challenge.

What are some things you are learning during this #fruitoffaithfulness challenge?

 Test me, Lord, and try me,examine my heart and my mind;  for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. Psalm 26:2-3 (NIV)

Other versions of the last part read:

I walk in your faithfulness. (ESV)

I have walked in Your truth (NLV)

And I have walked [faithfully] in Your truth. (AMP)

Walked faithfully in your truth….let that sink in for a minute.

How many of us can honestly said we walk faithfully in His truth?

I know that my good intentions don’t always play out to be good actions.

How can we make Intention=Action?

Lets take a look at the other part of the verse:

Test me Lord, and try me,examine my heart and mind.

While we often feel we have good intentions we know that the heart is deceitful and sometime what we view as the right motives prove wrong.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

If we don’t have wisdom and discernment we can’t understand if our motives are pure or tainted by the enemy. We have to rely on God to enable us to walk in the faithfulness of a righteous heart.

What is missing link between intentions and actions?

words.

It is not enough to carry this truth with us we need to speak it to ourselves and to others.

Aligning our hearts and minds to be tested by God requires faith. Walking in His truth and experiencing His love.

I speak the truth over myself to keep me walking in the faith of the love of my Heavenly Father.

Not only using words to keep me faithfully on my path, but using words to encourage and build up my fellow sisters in Christ.

Intentions become actions with grace-filled accountability.

I’ve been able to stick to a consistent work out routine with a few ladies in my small group because of the accountability. We verbalized a plan to one another and stick to it.When you speak exactly what you plan to do, it puts a period at the end of your sentence.

a declaration.

Declaring by faith in words the steps we will take or the truths we accept, we are able to hold each other accountable for actions we desire.

Test me, Lord, and try me,examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. Psalm 26:2-3 (NIV)

Test me and try me and still I will speak of your faithfulness. I declare this not only over myself but over others who I hold accountable.

Daily challenge:

Today I would really like you to seek out an accountability partner. Spend some time praying for God to bring a person in mind that you can live out your full faithfulness with. What is a promise or goal that you’ve made and now you’re having a hard time sticking to it? Ask God to reveal this person and this promise or goal to you so that you may be able to approach this person in love.

Walk faithfully in His truth and you are walking in His love. Declare truths over yourself and others. Find accountability with someone close to you.

Breathe it in sweet friends, you are walking in His faithfulness, tested and approved by God for the calling He has just for you.
